Lace Front Wigs Can Help Beat the Heat!

06/24/2017/in Hair Extensions Fresno, Hair Extensions San Diego, News, Wigs, Wigs Fresno, Wigs San Diego/by Helena Gibson

Lace Front Wigs & 100% Hand Tied Wigs Can Help You Beat the Heat

For most of us, we want our natural hair wigs year round. But, it has been really hot lately! To beat the heat, Strut Hair Solutions has increased our stock of two modern styles, 100% Hand Tied Wigs (or Full Lace Wigs) and Lace Front Wigs. It’s important to understand the main differences between the two and when each one should be worn!

Hand tied wigs, or full lace wigs, sound exactly like what they are; a lace fabric base in which synthetic or human hair is tied to and worn over the scalp. These can be 100% hand tied with human hair wigs or can be a combination of processed and hand tied wigs. Full lace wigs cover the whole scalp and can be worn with different hair styles underneath. They are usually worn with a wig cap because they cover the whole head. They are better suited for more temperate climates because they do not offer much breathability and can get very hot in the summer.

Lace Front Wigs, sometimes called Front Lace Wigs, are a popular alternative to 100% hand tied wigs and full lace wings because usually command a lower price, offer more comfort and wearability. Many celebrities have used lace front wigs to get the perfect hairline or for a quick hairstyle change. Lace front wigs can be used as a quick fix or to try out different styles.

When installed professionally, these breathtaking wigs can give the appearance of a truly natural hairline. The lace front wig is strictly attached by the front edges and are usually cut to fit when attached to your head. The base of the wig is usually comprised of a thicker material to keep a natural looking shape with improved comfort.

Benefits of Lace Front Wigs

An additional benefit is breathability; since the front of the hairline is covered with lace and hair only, a lace front wig allows for comfortable, wearable hair in hot weather. Allowing exposed natural hair to remain uncovered and cool is another great reason to use a front lace wig instead of a full scalp wig. A lace front wig is definitely ideal in hot and humid climates and is a great, natural looking alternative to other options. A 100% hand-tied, full lace wig allows even more breathing when it gets hot.

With the temperatures in Fresno hitting 110 degrees this summer, a lace front wig can prevent overheating. Make sure your wig is high quality and installed properly. A cheap lace front wig that is not put on properly could do damage to the skin, hair follicles and may lead to hair loss, or even skin discoloration due to harsh adhesives.

We recommend you speak to one of our professionals for assistance with getting the right wig and getting it in place properly. Prices for front lace wigs vary quite a bit based on quality, texture, length and style. Front laced wigs offer another option for a stylish and comfortable wig in summer heat.

At STRUT, we have a vast selection of 100% hand tied front lace wigs to choose from in-store. So, you can try them on, have them fitted properly, and then tailored to your scalp, face and body through cut and color. Visit our Fresno and Cardiff By the Sea locations for a discovery session on human hair front lace wigs. We look forward to helping you get the look you deserve!

Kims Wigs | Why Does Kim Zolciak Wear Wigs?

05/22/2017/in Hair Extensions Fresno, Hair Extensions San Diego, News, Wigs Fresno, Wigs San Diego/by Helena Gibson

If you have ever watched The Real Housewives of Atlanta, you probably know Kim Zolciak. She is known for being an outspoken proponent of beauty-enhancing products like wigs. Kim’s wigs are clearly an important aspect to who she is. We watched her in a previous interview on Bravo where she explained Kim’s wig obsession. Not all women that walk into our wig shop in Fresno or San Diego are there for medical hair loss reasons. Some just want to get a new, fresh look to liven things up a bit. She is definitely one of these people. In fact, she says that, “wigs are just easier!”

Kim has a full head of hair but doesn’t shy away from the nearest hair store to improve her look. Kim’s hair always looks good, and it is usually quite difficult to determine when she is wearing one or not. For Kim, hair store stops are a regular occurrence to keep her look fresh. In the interview mentioned above, she says, “My hairdresser Nikki can curl it on a mannequin or braid it or do whatever and just put it on my head, and I’m out the door,” she explained. “It’s like having a chef. I want to spend more time with my kids than cook and I hate cooking, so I hire a chef.”

Strut Hair Solutions has the greatest selection of wigs Fresno ca offers, so join us for hair pieces similar to Kim’s wigs Fresno, and our San Diego wig store both have something you will enjoy. As the interviewer mentions, “the fascinating thing is that Kim has a full head of thick, blonde hair that looks like hers, but she wears a big heavy wig over it.” We understand her desire for simple, healthy results without suffering from medical problems as well. This is another reason why we carry the highest quality wigs and are certain that even if we aren’t your nearest hair store, if you set up an appointment today we can get you a glimpse of how you would look with different styles like Kim’s hair.

Come see us today, and we will help you grab that look you want and will have you strutting out of our salon!

Human Hair Wigs verses Synthetic Wigs. Which are best?

03/09/2017/in Hair Extensions Fresno, Hair Extensions San Diego, Wigs, Wigs Fresno, Wigs San Diego/by Helena Gibson

Human Hair Wigs verses Synthetic Wigs, which one is the best choice for you?

Shopping online or in a store we always look at prices. The cheaper the better we always think, because we are saving money. Is cheaper really always better just to save a few extra dollars? You can be the judge of that as we describe what makes the best natural wigs below.

Ever wonder the big difference between the best human hair wig verses a synthetic wig? Yes price is a factor but there’s more to it then just the price tag.

SYNTHETIC AND HUMAN HAIR MACHINE MADE WIGS

Synthetic and Human hair machine made wigs are what most people identify wigs to be like and tend to be the most common. As you can see in the picture above wefts of hair are sewn together by a machine to create the over all look of the wig. Machine made wigs tend to be less expensive because they can be mass produced quickly. Synthetic and Human hair machine made wigs tend to have more volume and lift due to the thickness of the cap. These can look very realistic when the hair falls in the way its sewn. Due to the way machine made’s are sewn the top or scalp portion of the wig tends to look ratted and unrealistic. I would not recommend a machine made synthetic or human hair wig for a person with a sensitive scalp or is irritable to certain materials. Over all synthetic and human hair machine made wigs are great for someone who is on a budget and likes volume in their hair!

Pros:
More volume, more lift, more hair!
Least expensive
Can look realistic

Cons:
Thicker, heavier cap construction
Can be itchy or uncomfortable to sensitive scalps.
Cap construction can be more hot and bulky.
Unrealistic looking scalp

100% HAND TIED SYNTHETIC AND HUMAN HAIR WIGS

The idea of wigs being hot, heavy and uncomfortable is true but wigs are not all made the same. Depending on the wig cap can determine the comparability and flexibility of each wig. 100% hand tied synthetic and human hair wigs weigh less then 2 ounces in weight, leaving you feeling light and comfortable. In the picture above you can see that the cap is constructed very differently from a machine made wig. The 100% hand tied synthetic and human hair wigs have each fiber or hair individually hand sewn into the soft mesh cap. This technique recreates the movement of the way our natural hair moves and lays. Unlike machine made’s 100% hand tied cap’s have a very natural looking scalp giving the illusion of real hair. This type of cap gives you the option to change your part and customize your wig even more to how you like to wear your hair. The caps are fitted and lay smoothly against your head which makes it feel like there is nothing is on your head. Wigs with realistic scalp appearances really tie your whole look together and make your hair look thick, yet real. Overall 100% hand tied synthetic and human hair wigs are more expensive but can you put a price tag on comfortability, natural looking, light weight and happiness?

Pros:
Light weight and comfortable
Natural looking, moves the way natural hair does
Soft, fitted, comfortable cap construction
Natural looking scalp making it easy to part.

Cons:
Not a lot of volume
More expensive
Not a ton of hair

Look great for summer pictures with STRUT’s Summer Hair!

01/20/2017/1 Comment/in Hair Extensions Fresno, Hair Extensions San Diego, News, Wigs Fresno, Wigs San Diego/by Helena Gibson

Today is the first day of summer, long warm days ahead, vacations with our families, etc, sounds lovely until we get anxiety about our hair. We all want to look great for the poolside selfie, summer weddings and Strut Hair Solutions is here to keep you looking your best all season long. Raquel Welch stated for her new 2016 summer collection “This is the season to live beautifully, why not have a love affair with your hair?” I liked that. Why not! When our hair looks great we have a confidence that we radiate to others, and we feel like a million bucks. So my question would be, “How can we create that everyday this summer and look our best?” The answer, my friend, is adding wigs or hair extensions to your beauty regime. Celebrities have been using alternative hair for decades, now it’s your turn. Let’s explore your options to your best summer hair.

New Raquel 2016 Collection – Ready to wear hair!

Wigs– There is a myth that all wigs are hot, don’t breathe, and/or look fake, this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Today wigs come less than 2 oz, these wigs are 100% hand tied where every hair is hand knotted causing the hair to look like it is growing our of your scalp. With 100% hand knotted wigs you also have the most breathe ability. The material used to knot the hair is so thin and in most cases super soft. Once you have this wig on for say 10 minutes you’ll forget you have it on and I tell my clients the wig kinda becomes a part of you. With ready to wear wigs you truly never have a bad hair day, just shake and go. As for looking fake, no way, at STRUT Hair Solutions we customize and cut the wig to fit your face shape and help you choose the most flattering color. Wigs are great for vacation so your not spending all your time on your hair and wedding pictures look great you don’t have to worry about flat hair or thin spots showing.

Hair Topper-Fills hair in at the crown get more volume/fullness

Summer Hair Toppers – If you don’t feel like a wig is for you, maybe you’re just thinning on the crown we offer hair toppers. These the best for our thinning hair clients! These come in a variety of sizes and colors and fit to the thinning areas on the top of your head. They add coverage, volume, and fullness to the areas you need. Most client’s love this option as their own hair is integrated with the hair topper giving a seamless transition from topper to your hair. I do highly recommend human hair for your hair toppers to get the most natural blend. Hair toppers are easy to travel with and are light weight and cool, just like the 100% hand tied wig after a few minutes you’ll forget you have anything on at all.

18″ Clip in Remy Human Hair Extensions

Summer Hair Extensions – These are great for adding length, volume or both. Easy to use with clip in hair (no commitment) or we can apply a semi permanent option for you (lasts up to 4 months). If your hair won’t grow any more past a certain length or keeps breaking off, hair extensions are the solution for you. Clip-in hair extensions are great for brides, wear your hair down or have more fullness for an up do. My girl friends love them when they go out on dates, just gives that extra boost of confidence. Who doesn’t want full hair? Come in today for a consultation with one of our hair addition experts and see what more hair can do for you. www.struthairsolutions.com

Khloe Kardashian on E! News talk about hair extension collection

12/22/2016/1 Comment/in Hair Extensions Fresno, Hair Extensions San Diego, Hair Pieces, Wigs Fresno, Wigs San Diego/by Helena Gibson

Last night I had a few minutes and was flipping through TV channels, I stopped on E! to catch up on some pop culture. Only 15 minutes into the program Khloe Kardashian came on and showed her hair extension collection! http://www.eonline.com/news/766644/why-khloe-kardashian-travels-with-boxes-of-hair

It was great how she had all of her hair organized in plastic bags and then she color coated them. She showed the box with her current hair, ombre hair, etc.

The best way to store extensions is in a plastic box or the plastic bags. This way the dust and elements stay off them. I would recommend cleaning the hair and brushing out any knots before you store them. The plastic bags are also a great way to travel with your hair when you aren’t wearing it.

The other great thing in the story was how much hair she has. Different lengths and colors, hair to suit any look or mood she is in. One of the beauty’s of hair extensions is that you can lighten or darken your hair by adding hair extensions in the color you desire there for not damaging your own hair. I have a lot of clients who purchase our highlight pack just to add some fullness and light pieces around the face. They last 6-12 weeks in the hair before needing service.

Hair extensions also help hold your hair style in place. I have been wearing hair extensions now for about 8 years and for me personally my hair is in better shape, my style holds a few days, they give me insane volume which I am now addicted too. I cannot imagine ever not wearing some amount of hair extensions.

Please call for a free consultation to see if hair extensions would be right for you. Our hair addition experts are more than happy to answer your questions. www.struthairsolutions.com

Suffering from thinning hair? STRUT helps the 1 in 4 U.S. women!

11/15/2016/in Hair Extensions Fresno, Hair Extensions San Diego, News, Wigs Fresno, Wigs San Diego/by Helena Gibson

Did you know that 1 in 4 women in the U.S. are suffering from thinning hair? This can really affect a woman’s confidence. At STRUT Hair Solutions, we offer many options that aren’t limited to wigs for thinning hair.

Suffering from thinning hair?

First, let’s get the hair and scalp in great condition. There are many cosmetic products available at your local drug store or beauty supply, but these products don’t solve the issue; they offer a temporary fix. At STRUT Hair Solutions, we carry pharmaceutical grade products that have DHT blockers and other ingredients to make your hair stronger and stop any more shedding. This option will take some time to see results; however, why not use a product that promotes hair growth?

Secondly, there are hair toppers and hair pieces. These are pieces of hair that secure to the top of your head. They can be secured via pressure clips or bonding. The top of the head is the area most women experience hair thinning and the scalp showing. We recommend remy human hair to get the most seamless blend with your own hair, since a hair topper/hair piece is incorporated with your hair. This way you can style the hair piece just as you would your own hair. You will walk out feeling sexy, and looking years younger. Full hair is youthful, and a hair topper can give you that.

Lastly, if your hair loss is severe or if you want the easiest quickest fix, say goodbye to bad hair days and hello to wigs. Wigs get a bad rap, but they are truly amazing! No one will know you’re wearing a wig. Hand tied, monofilament, and lace-front wigs are less than 3oz in weight, so they’re extremely light and cool on the scalp. We tell clients in our studio that the thin mesh used in wigs now is so transparent that it looks like the hair is growing out of your head. The only thing you will notice is the amount of compliments about your hair you’re getting.

For wigs, you have the choice between remy human hair wigs or synthetic hair wigs. During your consultation, our hair addition experts will discuss with you which option would be best for your lifestyle and budget. Human hair looks the most natural. It has the most versatility and definitely has the longest wear.

Synthetic hair wigs are what we call ‘Shake-and-Go’ hair. The colors of synthetic wigs are super vibrant, and the wigs come pre-styled. Usually, we only need to thin some of the hair out and trim the bangs to make it custom fit your face shape. We include those services with any wig, hair extension, or hair piece you buy from us. You’ll look like you spent hours on your hair and in minutes you’ll look fabulous.

We tell our clients that if you wear your hair above the shoulder, go for the synthetic wigs. If you prefer longer hair, remy human hair wigs are perfect for you.

Please feel free to come in to the location nearest you in Fresno or San Diego, email us any questions you may have, or schedule a consultation with us. We are here to help you overcome suffering from thinning hair.
